For some pet owners, going on holiday without their beloved pooch can be a guilt-trip.
However, now dog lovers can treat man's best friend to a break of their own - by booking them into a resort which boasts a swimming pool just for canines.
The new facility is making splash in the canine world after it opened at The Resort Canino Can Jane in the town of Roca del Valles.

The resort - about 30 minutes from Barcelona - is a five-star hotel for pooches with a pool designed to be the right depth for dogs of all shapes and sizes.
The large aqua park also includes a water slide, as well as extra tough inflatables.
Manager Federico Cano said he had seen a resort that allowed dogs to swim alongside humans, and he decided to take it one stage further by making a resort that was only for dogs.
He said: 'I don't see why dogs should not be allowed to enjoy a swim when the weather gets hot just like people can - especially here in Spain where it gets really hot.

'I designed it so that it was a little bit like a beach with a gradual slope that is exactly what dogs appreciate.
'There were a few other technical challenges. For example the filter system has to handle rather more here than might be usual but we've overcome the problem and can guarantee a great experience for dogs and one that is clean and healthy for owners.'
He said that once the dogs get used to it the biggest problem is often getting them out the water, adding: 'The best thing is that they really burn off a lot of energy coming here.

'Take the dog to the resort for an hour and I can guarantee that it will sleep for the next two days.'
He added it was also great exercise for older dogs that sometimes find it harder to run around, but can still comfortably swim for long periods of time.
'Many people don't realise the dogs really love the water but they often don't get the chance to enjoy splashing around,' he said.
