Thai market set on TOP of railway tracks
comments
It could be classed as one of the most dangerous markets in the world, but these Thai locals barely bat an eyelid.
The Mae Klong market in Samut Songkhram province is located so close to the train tracks, that stallholders have to hurriedly move out the way every time a locomotive comes through.
Fortunately for the market, just four trains pass through the town, located around 50 miles away from Bangkok, each day.
The open-air market sells everything from clothes and household items to fresh fruit and vegetables, but stall holders have to be quick to pull in their awnings when they hear a train approaching.
Luckily for them, the locomotive travels at incredibly slow speeds through the town, allowing shoppers and tourists to leap out of the way and stallholders to ensure their stock is out of the way.
The journey is such a tight squeeze that, as one traveller caught the phenomenon on camera, the train can be heard knocking into some items.

The overhang of the carriage almost brushes produce as it passes through the market
The overhang of the carriage almost brushed the top of some produce on display, but it seems the locals are well-practiced in ensuring they move items out of the way just enough.
The amazing footage was captured by a travel blog team called Renegade Travels who write about the unusual Thailand experience on website renegadetravels.com.
The writer states: 'This is the train coming through the middle of Mae Klong Market in Thailand. It's an amazing sight to see as all the stallholders move out of the way so that the train can pass, and then carry on as if nothing has happened. Well worth a visit.'
Put the internet to work for you.
