Britain's Worst Holiday Photographer 2014 given to blurry Florida snap

It's the competition nobody wanted to win, but a grandmother who submitted a blurry, wonky family snap has been named Britain's Worst Holiday Photographer 2014.

Judges from CheapHolidayLand.com were overwhelmed by the number of incredibly bad photos they received - from a blurry penguin, to pictures of backs of heads.

However, it was Jayne Boorman, from Pembury, Kent, who picked up the dubious honour after her daughter-in-law Sally Boorman entered the shot on her behalf.

The picture, which was taken on a family trip to Disney World in Florida, is a blurred shot of a character called Duffy the Disney Bear, a character the family took the trip to see.

Sally said: 'It's a running joke in the family that Jayne's a terrible photographer but I wrongly thought this was an easy photo to take and surely she couldn't mess it up. How wrong I was.

'Thank goodness my husband took some photos too.

'This is the first thing she's won since winning the egg and spoon race at school so is delighted.

'Let's hope she can master the camera she's won. If not, we could be entering another one of her delights next year.'

Among the runners up were Eddie Clamp, 72, from Selsey, Sussex, who took an action shot of one of his diving colleagues, but only managed to snap the fins; and Darryl Green, 24, from Southend, Essex, whose dad was obscured by a leaf on a rare family photo taken on holiday in Majorca.

Steve Barnes from CheapHolidayLand.com said: 'The response we had to the competition was amazing and it was hard to pick a winner. All the photos really were terrible but the one Sally entered caught our eye.'

The winner: Jayne Boorman took this snap of a family holiday in Florida - after queuing for hours to meet Duffy the Disney Bear

Now you sea it: This picture manages to show.... absolutely nothing at all, except a rather murky looking ocean

Ripple effect: Taking a photo of this holidaymaker while half-submerged has managed to create a magnifying glass effect
Dark times: The Disney Castle is barely visible in this night shot photo fail

Photo fails: While this holidaymaker is snapped in the water, creating a magnifying glass effect, the Disney castle on the right is hardly shown in its best light either, simply a blurry mass in the background overshadowed by a limp firework in the foreground

Down in one: 'And this is grandma doing a shot in the pub on our trip'.... perhaps not a picture to put in the family album
