It is the airline known for budget flights around the UK, but now bmi is going upmarket.

The airline is offering one of its 50-seater jets for private hire, but the tickets are rather more expensive than your average return.

The Embraer aircraft, which is kitted out with its own livery, costs a whopping £15,000 per day to hire. But if you manage to fill the plane, that works out at £300 per person.

And what do you get for your money? A bespoke menu and bar and the chance to choose your own schedule.

And for the real star treatment, you can also have your own name put on the side of the plane for the day.

The short-haul destinations available include the South of France, Croatia and even Iceland, offering one-day returns for the jetset.

Celebrities, rock bands and football teams already use the service to shuttle them around the world.

And now the bmi plane is available for anyone who wants to live the life of a celebrity by popping to Cannes, Milan or even Glastonbury for the day.
