It's a holiday only suitable for those with a head for heights.

A US company is offering extreme camping – where travellers pitch up their tents hundreds of feet off the ground on the side of a cliff.

Kent Mountain Adventure Center said the £650 daredevil overnight trip – which also includes dinner and breakfast at 200ft – mainly attracts thrill-seekers.

On its website, the company explains about the adventure, which takes place in Estes Park in Colorado: 'Perhaps you've heard about it. Maybe you've seen it. Now YOU can do it!

'Spend a night camping out on a sheer rock face hundreds of feet off the ground. Or enjoy a picnic lunch on vertical rock.

'Whatever you choose, it's one for your "Bucket" list.

'You'll experience the excitement and views that only a wall climber can have.'

Adrenaline junkies have to sign a disclaimer before they are allowed on the trip, for which they will spend the morning learning basic climbing skills before heading out to the camp.

After ascending up the cliff face – with the help of a trained guide – climbers will set up camp on a portaledge.

The website adds: 'Relax, have some tea and snacks, and marvel with adrenaline and excitement at the setting you are in.
