TWO-THIRDS of Britons fail to take their annual leave allowance

Britain is a nation of 'deskdreamers', with one in five people spending half an hour gazing at holiday destinations at work every day.
But while we surf the web for travel inspiration, nearly two-thirds of workers are failing to take their full annual holiday allowance.
The shock statistics show that while Britons love nothing more than planning holidays, many are so busy working they have no time to take them.
Inspired: One in five Britons spends half an hour a day at work looking at holiday websites
Research commissioned by GetYourGuide.co.uk found that 35 per cent of us in fact have more than three annual leave days left over at the end of the year and 15 per cent have five or more.
It was also discovered that the average Brit spends 24 minutes per day looking at holiday destinations whilst at their desk – equating to two hours over the working week and 100 hours over the course of a year.
The most common reason people cited for not making use of their full holiday allowance was clashes with other colleagues wanting to go on holiday at the same time (32 per cent), followed by financial constraints (19 per cent).
Workaholics: Two-thirds of Britons fail to take their annual leave due to work pressures
More than one in 10 (12 per cent) also said that they don't take all their annual leave so they look more hard-working to colleagues, with eight per cent saying they like to boast about the fact that they're not taking holiday to fellow worker.
A further five per cent said they stay at work in an attempt to impress their boss and an equal amount are self-employed and daren't take the time off work.
GetYourGuide.co.uk's founder and CEO Johannes Reck said: 'These findings show that Brits really are spending a huge amount of their time at work surfing the web for "holiday porn" yet when it comes to actually booking trips away they are reluctant.
'It seems so sad that date clashes with colleagues and money constraints are contributing factors – hopefully sites such as GetYourGuide.co.uk will help them to plan their trips well in advance as well as finding the best deal for their money.'
